All About Jacob Elordi’s On-Off Girlfriend, Olivia Jade, and Their History
Euphoria star Jacob Elordi and Olivia Jade Giannulli were first linked romantically in 2021 before taking a break from their relationship. It was confirmed in late July 2023 that they were exploring their connection again. In early June, they were seen together in Paraggi, Italy, then in Idaho with Giannulli’s parents, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli, in July.
A source told People, “They are 100 percent going strong...[It’s] getting serious.”
Of the many trips, the source said, “Jacob had to leave early to fly back to Australia, but they looked like they had a great time together. They are a really cute couple.” Breakup rumors surfaced in January 2024, although TMZ reported at the time that they were still together.
After facing breakup reports again in 2025, a source told People in September 2025 that the pair was “seeing each other again.” The reconciliation didn’t last long, as People reported their breakup in late October. Months later in January 2026, the pair was photographed together again, prompting questions about their status. In late February 2026, an Entertainment Tonight source explained why they were no longer seeing each other.
Here’s everything we know about Elordi and Olivia Jade so far and their on-off history.
The former Dancing With the Stars contestant was born into show business. Loughlin starred in sitcom classic Full House, and her dad is a fashion designer. She started a YouTube account and Instagram page in high school that now each have over a million followers.
The 24-year-old was somewhat notoriously enrolled at the University of Southern California; the conditions of her admissions turned out to be doctored, with an application implying she was invested in competitive rowing. She was not. Her parents also allegedly bribed the board as well. She faced considerable criticism from fans and non-fans on social media, but seems to have recovered—and turned back on her comments on Insta.
Their first noted public appearance was a coffee date in Los Angeles in late December 2021. Giannulli broke up with boyfriend Jackson Guthy a few months earlier, while Elordi had broken up with model girlfriend Kaia Gerber a month before. An insider told People at the time that they were “casually dating,” although a second source denied it.
They split in August 2022 but appeared to be seeing each other again almost a year later. While they continued to date on and off over the years, they reportedly broke up for good in August 2025.
Elordi dated his co-star Joey King, who starred as his love interest in the Netflix hit movie series The Kissing Booth. It was rumored he and Zendaya dated as well, though they have never confirmed a romantic relationship. And he was with Kaia Gerber in 2021.
Practically: On Nov. 16, 2023, the couple attended GQ Men of the Year party. They posed on the red carpet separately though. Paparazzi photos suggested they left around the same time:
No, but Elordi was given the chance. During his November GQ interview, Elordi was asked about his romantic life. He declined to answer any questions about it, saying, “but I appreciate you giving me the space.”
The couple themselves hadn’t been photographed by paparazzi, but a witness claimed to unverified celeb gossip outlet DeuxMoi in a post shared on January 3 that they were still dating.
However, on January 17, Us Weekly reported that Elordi and Giannulli have split once again. The outlet didn’t specify what caused the breakup or when exactly it happened.
The next day, TMZ reported that “sources with a direct knowledge” of the couple shared that they are definitely still together. In fact, Giannulli had been with Elordi in New York City as he rehearsed for his Saturday Night Live hosting gig on January 20. According to SNL production sources, Giannulli was seen near NBC Studios and Elordi’s dressing room.
And then, just after the show, the pair attended an after-party together and were photographed leaving in the early hours of the morning. Elordi was wearing a large black peacoat over olive green cargo pants and a graphic white T-shirt with a baseball cap and leather boots. Jade had on a white fur coat and ultra high-heeled black boots with black stockings. She also carried a small black clutch and had gold earrings in her ears.
A source told The Messenger in January that there is a reason. Despite Us Weekly’s breakup report, the couple is “still very much together and going strong,” the source said. “There was never a split. Jacob has been very busy with work commitments but they have managed to still spend time together in between and the relationship is going well.”
With Elordi’s job, “Olivia is very understanding of his schedule and they make sure to have FaceTime dates when he is away. They both enjoy keeping their relationship more private. Jacob likes keeping his work separate and you will most likely not see them together in a public forum.”
It would appear so. E! ran photos of the couple attending a birthday party for Giannulli’s older sister, Bella, at Beverly Hills’ Funke restaurant on September 16. Giannulli embraced Elordi in one shot. She wore a leather jacket, corset top, and jeans. Elordi, meanwhile, opted for a leather jacket as well with a green baseball cap, white T-shirt, and light-green pants.
On September 28, the couple were vacationing on a yacht in Sardinia, Italy, along with Jade’s mother and father, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli, and her sister, Isabella. Elordi was photographed wearing a pair of black swim trunks. Jade wore a purple bikini. The couple and family were seen swimming and lounging on the deck and enjoying a few drinks. E! reported that they were celebrating Jade’s 25th birthday together. She shared a TikTok video getting ready for the big day, offering a peek of her outfit for the day as well as the gorgeous Italian landscape.
Yes. Giannulli and Elordi have reportedly ended their relationship, People confirmed on Aug. 7, 2025. The breakup news came shortly after Giannulli shared a vlog about her move to Paris, calling it the start of a “formative” time in her life.
On Sept. 8, 2025, Elordi and Giannulli were photographed together at the Toronto International Film Festival for the premiere of Elordi’s new film Frankenstein, sparking reconciliation rumors. Images shared on social media showed the pair walking side by side into the Princess of Wales Theatre.
A week later, on Sept. 13, 2025, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the couple is on again.
“Olivia and Jacob are seeing each other again and giving it another shot,” the insider shared. “They have been on and off for many months and recently reconnected in NYC. They aren’t putting a label on it but are trying to see if the relationship will work again.”
According to the source, the couple never “fully closed the door” on their relationship.
“There is deep-rooted love between them,” the insider shared. “Jacob has a busy schedule right now, and Olivia is now splitting her time between L.A. and New York, but they’re making more of an effort this time to prioritize each other. Both are approaching things with more maturity, taking it slow, and seeing where it goes.”
On September 15, a source confirmed to People that the pair really is “seeing each other again.”
The insider added, “Even though they’ve been on and off, they still talk all the time and remained close friends. Her family really likes him and they have the same circle of friends.”
Giannulli and Elordi kept their relationship out of the spotlight during his Frankenstein press tour.
The actor posed on his own and with his co-stars Oscar Isaac and Mia Goth at the BFI London Film Festival premiere of Frankenstein.
Giannulli also wasn’t photographed at the film’s Los Angeles and Paris premieres earlier in October.
Yes, on October 28, People confirmed that Giannulli and Elordi had split up after their brief reconciliation. “It’s fully over. They are not getting back together,” a source told the outlet. The insider added that Giannulli is “fine about the Jacob split, she’s more upset about what’s going on with her father.”
On October 3, People reported that the YouTuber’s parents were separating after 28 years of marriage. In the following weeks, additional reports came out with sources telling People that Loughlin feels “betrayed” by Giannulli and that her friends are “very angry” with him, though specific details have not been shared.
Yes, the pair was photographed getting into a car together while out in NYC in photos published by DeuxMoi on January 14. Later that day, they were both seen at the same Frankenstein screening, with People running photos of them there. It’s unclear what their current relationship status is, but LaineyGossip reported that they were also snapped getting dinner with Elordi’s parents that night, suggesting they remain close.
No, they aren’t. A source told Entertainment Tonight on February 24 that Giannulli was exploring her connection with NFL player Braxton Berrios. “Braxton and Olivia are getting to know each other, and she is open to it,” the source said. “She has moved on from Jacob Elordi and is ready for a new chapter.”
The insider gave some detail on why Giannulli and Elordi’s romance didn’t work out, saying, “Jacob is very focused on work and gets intense when he’s on a project. It was difficult for Olivia to sustain a relationship with him.”
