"I have realised that in US, artists are valued and respected," she said. Comparing this with how mehendi artists are perceived in India, she said, "In India, being a mehendi artist is not considered a good profession, but here I am respected.
As a henna artist, Priyancka charges $100 per hour, which is around ₹9,000-₹10,000.
She often receives a tip of up to 20% on top of her charges.
For bridal and wedding assignments, she said she can earn close to ₹1 lakh for 10 hours of work.
