Millie Bobby Brown Reveals Dramatic Bob Cut With Stunning Sequin Gown
On Friday, Millie Bobby Brown debuted her new bob, a considerable chop since her last public appearance, while at the Joy Awards in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The new look was tousled and tucked gently behind her ears as she was interviewed on the red carpet.
Brown was also wearing a glamorous silver sequin gown with a low cowl neckline and long shimmering skirt from Tamara Ralph. Across the front, the dress was punctuated by fabric floral appliqué. She accessorized with Chopard diamond drop earrings and wore a natural makeup palette with a red lip.
In a video posted by the Joy Awards, Brown reflected on her haircut and glamorous outfit.
“I feel like old Hollywood tonight,” she shared. “I just cut my hair into a very short bob, so I was like, ‘Okay, the sparklier, the better.’”
The Stranger Things star was being honored with the Personality of the Year award. For her acceptance speech, she changed into another cowl neck gown, this one adorned with feathers and sheer fabric sleeves. Brown spoke about how her time on the Netflix hit and as a child actor influenced her. She also discussed her life now as a mom with her husband, Jake Bongiovi.
“Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to be in the creative world,” she shared. “Pursuing creativity and becoming an actor at eight years old wasn’t a dream I chased on my own. It was encouraged and supported by my parents who never doubted me for a second.”
She continued, “Like many careers, this one comes with its challenges and rejection is a big part of this journey, and that can be especially difficult at a young age. But when that special ‘yes’ finally comes, it reminds you how important it is to believe in yourself and to keep dreaming.”
Brown went on to say she hopes to “encourage young people to honor themselves, take care of themselves, love themselves, and never be afraid to take that leap of faith.”
“Love your family or your chosen family, meet new friends, hug the people who love and support you for exactly who you are,” she added. “I’m so honored to have my own unit in my life. My family are my anchor, my husband is my sail, my team are my engine, and my daughter is my North Star. I wouldn’t be able to do any of this without them.”
