Thailand gets a new passport, it will give free AI access to everybody

The platform currently brings together 33 models from 15 providers, covering everything from chat and coding to image and video generation, music creation and deep research. The programme is open to Thai citizens aged 15 and above.

Users need to register through the AiPASS website and verify their identity using Thailand's Digital ID system or ThaID. According to the government, the broader goal behind Thai AI passport is to improve AI literacy and encourage people to use the technology in education.

What Happened

There is also a points and credit system built into the platform. Users can earn points and credits by completing courses, lessons and missions, which can then help unlock access to different AI features.

• The programme is currently scheduled to run from August 31, 2026, until August 31, 2027.

• South Korea has also announced an “AI for All” programme that aims to provide citizens with a government-backed general-purpose AI chatbot powered by homegrown models, free of charge and without usage limits.

• Interestingly, Thailand is not the only country trying to make AI more accessible.

Key Details

Users cannot use AiPASS for illegal activity, fraud, gambling, harassment, hate speech, obscene content or material that violates privacy or intellectual property rights.
