In his original post, Trump mentioned CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s interaction with the US administration and praised India’s voter ID system while urging Congress to pass the SAVE America Act. Hence, the claim made in the post is Misleading.

We then reviewed the social media accounts (here, here, and here) of US President Donald Trump to check whether he had made the statement mentioned in the viral post. In the post, Trump stated that earlier that month, India’s Chief Election Commissioner.

To verify the claim, we conducted a Google search using relevant keywords but found no credible reports or official information confirming that US President Donald Trump said the US is in talks with India.
However, we found no post from Trump stating that the US is in talks with India to bring its EVM system to America for the 2028 election.
During this process, we found a Truth Social post (archived) by Trump dated 18 August 2026.
Why It Matters
The legislation concerns voter eligibility and identification and has no provisions related to adopting or importing India’s EVM system. To sum up, this viral post alleging that President Donald Trump said the US plans to bring India’s EVMs for the 2028 election.
