A day later, she produced an even more dominant performance in the final against South Korea’s World No. The Indian won the battle 21-5, 21-6 in just 32 minutes to lift the title.
What Happened
The victory gives Tanvi her first title of the season. It also comes just a week after she finished runner-up at the Antica Singapore Challenge, showing how quickly she is making her presence felt at the senior level.
After the family returned to India during the COVID-19 pandemic, Tanvi joined the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy in 2022.
She also enjoyed a strong 2026, winning the Slovenia Li-Ning Open in May and the Yonex-Sunrise V.V.
The result may have ended her run, but her performances this season show the depth of talent emerging in Indian badminton.
Key Details
Tanvi’s rise has been building for years. She first picked up a badminton racket at the age of six while living near Shanghai, where her father, Rabinarayan Patri, used to work.
At the Pontianak International Challenge, Ilishaa suffered a narrow defeat in a three-game battle against Indonesia’s Oei Louisa Jovanka San Di Winarto in the Round of 64.
