Google’s Gemini App Surpasses 750 Million Monthly Users Worldwide
Google’s Gemini app has crossed 750 million monthly active users, driven by the launch of Gemini 3 and rising engagement. The company has reduced operating costs by 78%, expanded partnerships with Apple and Reliance Jio, and seen rapid adoption of Gemini 3 Pro. With over 10 billion tokens processed per minute via API and new AI features rolling out across products, Gemini is fast becoming central to Google’s global AI strategy.
Google has announced that its AI assistant app Gemini has crossed 750 million monthly active users (MAUs) globally, marking a sharp rise from 650 million in the previous quarter. CEO Sundar Pichai highlighted the milestone during the company’s Q4 earnings call, noting that the launch of Gemini 3 has driven strong momentum. He revealed that Google’s first-party AI models now process over 10 billion tokens per minute via direct API usage.
Engagement Rises After Gemini 3 Launch
Pichai said user engagement has significantly increased since the release of Gemini 3 in December. While specific figures were not disclosed, Google confirmed that users are spending more time on the app and using it more frequently compared to earlier versions.
Major Cost Reductions for Gemini
Google has cut Gemini’s operating costs by 78% in 2025, thanks to model optimisations, improved efficiency, and better infrastructure utilisation. These savings will support broader deployment of Gemini across Google’s ecosystem.
Partnerships with Apple and Reliance Jio
New collaborations with Apple and Reliance Jio are expected to expand Gemini’s reach further, particularly in India and other global markets. Though timelines remain undisclosed, Pichai said these partnerships will strengthen Gemini’s technological and commercial presence.
Gemini 3 Pro Adoption and Capabilities
Gemini 3 Pro has become Google’s fastest-adopted AI model to date, processing nearly three times more daily tokens than Gemini 2.5 Pro. It now leads Google’s advancements in reasoning and multimodal AI. The model also powers Google Anti Gravity, a new development platform enabling AI agents to execute complex software tasks, which has already attracted 1.5 million weekly users within two months of launch.
API Usage and AI Expansion Across Products
Google’s AI models, including Gemini, now handle over 10 billion tokens per minute via API, up from 7 billion last quarter. In January, Google introduced personal intelligence features in AI Mode within Search and the Gemini app, with plans to expand AI-powered tools across more products in the coming months.
